Alan Bechtol has expanded our services to cover the entire south Atlanta region!
Alan Bechtol focuses on serving our clients in the South Atlanta area. He has been in the construction business since working for his father building houses as a teenager. He has been a recognized lecturer on construction and inspection issues in the local real estate community. Over the years he built three houses for himself and handled various remodeling projects. He is experienced with both low and high voltage wiring. Alan retired from the Navy as an aviation petty officer.
Alan and his wife live in Covington, Georgia.
Carol Powers brings to Champia over ten years of experience as one of the most successful independent home inspectors in the Atlanta area. She has performed thousands of inspections, from new contruction to historical renovations. In addition to inspections, she is a popular lecturer and speaker on construction and related issues. Prior to the home inspection business, Carol worked for over ten years as a technician. She holds a degree from the University of Florida.
Carol resides in Acworth, Georgia.
John Woods has been involved in the construction industry for over 40 years. Growing up in his family’s construction business allowed him to participate in every facet of constructing single and multiple family homes and apartments from start to finish. He has renovated dwellings constructed in 1800’s and 1900’s. John holds a Batchelor’s degree as well as a Law degree, is a retired Army Officer and police officer. In his spare time, he works in his studio creating stained glass and metal art. John speaks fluent Spanish.
John and his family reside in Marietta, Georgia.
Dr. Tore Knos is the president and founder of Champia Corp. A widely respected expert in the area of residential and commercial construction, Dr. Knos holds a PhD and his dissertation focused on building codes and construction. He is also an adjunct professor at Southern Polytechnic University, Atlanta in the Construction Department where he teaches residential and commercial construction. With over 35 years of expertise in home inspections, Dr. Knos manages Champia, and oversees the technical training of all Champia inspectors
Dr Knos is also the past president of the Georgia ASHI Association, working to promote the highest standards in the home inspection industry for Georgia. He is currently serving on the national board of directors for ASHI.
Dr Knos and his family reside in Marietta, Georgia.
Chris Howe has been in the residential and commercial construction business for over 20 years. He began his career framing houses, then apprenticed as a residential & commercial electrician. Chris tuned his skills working on electrical power systems while serving in the Air Force for 10 years. Once out of the service and attending college, he was a lead carpenter for John Rogers Renovations in Atlanta - managing projects including home additions and kitchen and bath remodels for clients such as The Home Depot Expo.
Chris has a degree in business management and minored in construction. He worked for 6 years as a construction project manager with Beers Construction and Price Davis Construction.
Chris' varied construction background gives him insight into the cause and solution to a myriad of home issues, especially with the remodeling of investment and rental properties.
Chris and his family reside in Marietta, Georgia.
Rick Farber is in charge of Champia's marketing programs. He has an extensive background in construction and industrial engineering. Rick works directly with customers and agents to make sure each and every inspection is up to our exacting standards.

Mickey Heinze has managed Champia's scheduling and customer service operations for 16 years. She and her staff work directly with our customers and real estate agents to arrange for inspections and followup rechecks.
